our beers
Named after the impressive pipelines that sweep down the hillside into Kinlochleven. Penstock brings a refreshing surge of hops, balanced by a malty foundation. It’s crisp, thirst quenching and built to keep things flowing.
The industrious navvies that constructed Kinlochleven’s aluminium smelter were distinctive, traditional and robust in character. So too is our flagship ale. This copper coloured classic will work in all weathers, regardless of the time of year.
Named after one of the dark tributary waters that flow into the Blackwater Reservoir, Dubh-mòr has all the smooth malty, chocolate flavours of a traditional Scottish dark ale. Lightly balanced hop additions give a hint of orange.
The infamous mountain pass between Glen Coe and Kinlochleven has long been known as the Devil’s Staircase. The name was perpetuated by the navvies building the hydro dam who, on being paid, would walk to the nearest inn. The journey back from Kings House often proved more challenging and on a cold winter’s night the devil could claim his own.
